PUERTOLLANO (Ciudad Real) east link road turnoff construction

 

The petrochemical development in Puertollano is the most complete and the one with the biggest conversion capacity in Spain, it generates a lot of vehicles traffic which contains dangerous goods, that is why a road was built in order to avoid the town´s interior traffic

 

 

  • The most important aspect is the construction of arrestor beds, which guarantee the emergency stop, especially in dangerous goods vehicles.
  • The present infrastructures link, CR- 504 in the Chemical Development in Puertollano in Argamasilla de Calatrava stretch, has been solved by a roundabout.

 


  • The new road, which is 10 kms long, adapts itself to the Sierra de Calatrava´s Orography.
  • For its construction 815.233 m3 blastings clearing were needed, most of them by controlled blastings, as a well as a 696.613m3 paving from the excavation.
  • Apart from that, a total of 10 structures were built. Specifically, 3 viaducts which cross Tirteafuera, el Peñón and Fraile channels: 3 overpasses and 4 underpasses, which guarantee the rural roads continuity.
